Berentés, Zsuzsanna

Zsuzsa Berentés started learning music at the Liszt Ferenc Music School, and attended the Secondary School of Music in Győr. After graduating from the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music she played in the Hungarian State Opera and then in the Budapest Festival Orchestra. For several years she was second violinist to the Auer Quartet, with whom she performed in numerous countries including Australia, New Zealand, India, Japan, the United Kingdom and Russia.

The quartet won first prize in London in 1997 at a string competition presided over by Yehudi Menuhin. She was awarded the Liszt Ferenc prize in 2000.
