Lajhó, Géza

Born in 1956 in Miskolc (Northern Hungary), Géza Lajhó pursued his musical studies first at the Secondary Music School of his native town, later at the prestigious Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. In 1980 he became member of the Hungarian State Symphony Orchestra. In 1984 he was awarded with the Ditta Pásztory Prize, a year later with a special distinction of the Hungarian Ministry of Culture. Mr.Lajhó has been playing in the Budapest Festival Orchestra since its foundation in 1983, and has been regular member of its doublebass section since the BFO became a permanent institution in 1992.
